Access Arrangement Services
Our Approach
Access arrangements are reasonable adjustments, as defined by the Equality Act (2010), and are specific to an individual candidate. They allow candidates with special educational needs, disabilities, or temporary injuries to access assessments without changing the demands of the assessment.
When assessing for reasonable adjustments, JCJ Assessment Services will always consider the following:
- The needs of the candidate.
- The effectiveness of the adjustment.
- The cost of the adjustment; and
- The likely impact of the adjustment on the candidate and other candidates.
Our Services
Build Relationships
JCJ Assessments will establish a good working relationship with your students, and key team members in your schools such as SENCo, SEND team members and the examinations officer.
Complete Assessments
Our team will complete specialist assessments using appropriate up-to-date, nationally standardised tests appropriate for the age of the candidate. For example:
- DASH: Speed of Handwriting
- SPARCS: Spelling, Processing speed and Reading Comprehension speed
- TOMAL2: Working memory; focus and concentration
- GORT5: Gray Oral reading Test 5th Edition
- AAB: Academic Achievement battery
- CTOPP2: Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing 2nd Edition
Administration Support
Our team will work collaboratively with your SEND teams and school leaders to provide tailored support where and when it is needed. This includes supporting the completion of relevant forms and online applications for access arrangements.
Advice & Guidance
We will provide:
- advice and guidance on the collation, recording and storage of all administration relating to exam access arrangements
- guidance and support on the creation and maintenance of all student files in preparation for JCQ inspections
- training and advice to staff on supporting students with access arrangements.
